This year has been a tough one, and I feel like I have been on a roller coaster for the last several months. I don't know why, but I feel like the time I have taken to really enjoy my family's time together, has taken a big hit. I am learning to love the holidays more. I'm not going to lie, I'm not a huge fan of holiday gatherings, but there are two groups of people I love to see: my husband and our extended family. My husband is such a great dad. We spend time together before and after school with no regard to time. I know it's mostly a work day for him, but he truly loves spending that time with both kids and talking with his dad and uncles. He's been my rock lately.
I hope next year is a little bit more relaxing. This year has had its highs and lows and I'm thankful to have made it through. I wish everyone the happiest of holiday's and a safe new year. I'll be seeing you in 2014!
What a fun post. I love the photos of the group. Happy New Year! Hope you have a great year ahead. I agree about family and holidays. They are important but I have too many other things going on. 01e38acffe

Q:
How to concatenate/join/append two elements in a LINQ Select statement
I am new to LINQ. I am trying to extract a string from a JSON string, along with another string that is already stored in a variable.
I am trying to put them together in a LINQ statement.
Here is what I have now:
using (SqlConnection connection = new SqlConnection(connectionString))
{
var jsonMessage = JsonConvert.DeserializeObject>(message);
string recordId = "";
foreach (KeyValuePair entry in jsonMessage)
{
if (entry.Value.ToString().Contains("_id"))
{
recordId = (string)entry.Value;
}
}
var query = "SELECT a.Id, a.Content, b.Id as'message_id' FROM Articles a, Message b " +
"WHERE a.Id = b.MessageId " +
"and a.Id = " + recordId;
var adapter = new SqlDataAdapter(query, connection);
var ds = new DataSet();
adapter.Fill(ds);
}
With this, I can retrieve the recordId and message_id, but I want to append both and then retrieve the complete record from the database.
Is there a way to put the code above in a single LINQ statement?
A:
I think you are looking for the string.Format method.
var query = string.Format("SELECT a.Id, a.Content, b
